JANUARY ISSUE
Our 2015 spring semester started off with the brothers participating in the MLK observance day program. This year's theme for the program was "the march," celebrating the 50th anniversary march from selma to Montgomery. Our chapter was able to participate in the program by walking with the other people in attendance in the Opelika area to honor the march to Montgomery. The picture of the brothers marching are shown above.
** OK and Pi Alpha
This month we were able to fellowship with some of the brothers from Clemson University and Brother Rome at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a time where we had a chance to connect and talk plans of fellowshipping again in the future.
** Alpha Week
We are very excited about the 2015 spring semester at Auburn University. The first thing that we have coming up is our Alpha week from Feb 22nd - Feb 28th. If you are in the area or have time off please feel free to join us on the plains for a great week!
** Community Service
Pictured above are a few of the brothers working one of our national initiatives, a voteless people is a hopeless people. This was initiated as a national program of alpha during the 1930's when many african americans had the right to vote but were prevented from voting because of poll taxes, threats of reprisal, and lack of education about the voting process. Voter education and registration has remained a dominant focus of this outreach activity for over 65 years. The brothers registered several high school students as well as some citizens in surrounding areas.
